Flower for mommy
Daddy told you to pick a flower for mommy and you brought it to me- it melts my heart when you do that!
Mommy and daddy's anniversary
Saturday was our fifth wedding anniversary! Gramayre came over and babysat you and your brother. That was such a wonderful day because it was nice to get to spend time with you and your brother and not be at work. We got up and daddy took care of everything including breakfast which was wonderful. He came in the bedroom and brought me a present and a card that you helped him pick out. It was so sweet that he got me something and gave it to me that morning. It was a earrings and a bracelet made out of shot shells. They are beautiful! Then we hung around the house and you played outside with daddy and then we went to the pool and had lunch there. You are a little hesitant to get out in the water and tend to want to cling to me or daddy or the steps. Probably because the water seems very cold! When we were getting ready to go daddy brought you over and your lips were purple. He had tossed you in the water and you did not like it. He also tried to do the ring around the Rosie but you did not like that either. You actually fell asleep in his arms while we were getting ready to go when he was sitting down because you were tired and it was past your naptime. He said that's the first time you have ever done that. (See my sweet child you are a busy busy boy!). We got home and you took a nap and Gramayre was here when you woke up. While you were napping I got to hang out on the porch and my cool black swing chair and looked at pictures from our wedding day. On that day we had no idea that you and your brother would be here but we had hoped so! I wish you could have been a part of our wedding because it was so special but we have a video of it that we can show you one day. It was one of the best days of my life! A day full of happiness and hopes and dreams that one day we will have a family. And we do!!
Mommy and daddy went into Atlanta and went to an area that is fairly new called Ponce city market. Then we had dinner across the street at 4th and Swift. All of their vegetables or from a local organic garden in Athens. The meal was rather pricey but the food was very unique and delicious. After dinner we walked back over to the market and had some gelato which was amazing. Your daddy was very talkative that night and it was nice to have a date with him and get to spend time together.

Bigger one
Lately you have been stalling at night saying you have to go bigger one. Bigger one means number 2 (going to the potty).
Super hero saves the day!
We are watching a show the other night and they had a conversation about getting costumes and you saw your cape on the door and wanted to put it on. There are two capes so you gave me one. Once you had yours on you said super hero saves the day! That amazed me that you hear that from the TV shows you watch. Must be PJ Masks!

No dark
You learn how to turn your light on in your room so when is bedtime I always just pull the string on the fan/light. The family figured out that the court is what controls the light when I do that so tonight when I turned it off you were jumping up underneath the light and it was hilarious. I went to tell daddy what you were doing and when I came back you had moved to the twin bed and we're jumping on it.
One day
One day there won't be these bath toys to put away.
One day there won't be this Passy that we keep bugging you about.
One day it won't be wipes to fill and diapers to put away.
But right now they are here and I treasure each and everyone of those things. Because time is flying by and you are growing so big!
I love your adorable words like go fish in the lake and how you imagine there is a pink octopus in the lake.

Beach trip- Folly Beach, SC
We are heading home from a family beach trip with Nana and Jerry, Aunt Angie and Uncle Dwayne, Alex and Lacey. Nana wanted a trip for the family to celebrate Alex's upcoming graduation. It was a nice time. My favorite part was getting to spend one on one time with you. Nana watched Benjamin the last 2 nights so we could go to dinner. He sleeps a lot and is fine staying behind.
The weekend was full of these events:
Friday got to the house and went to the beach. You were a little hesitant of the waves but liked the sand and making things in it. We stayed in for dinner and all had spaghetti Nana had brought.
Saturday we all went to the beach and then we went to dinner. At the beach, you played in the sand and wanted to play with Alex and Lacey. We tried to show you how to use the boogie board, but you weren't ready yet. After dinner at Blu, we got yogurt with Nana and Jerry. You sat in your little stroller and daddy pushed you while you held on to your cup and said "my ice cream".
When we got back to the house, daddy tilted you up the steps and there went the melted ice cream.
On Sunday, Jerry rented a golf cart and we drove to the other end of the island. You were tired and fell asleep but woke up when we stopped. You were intrigued by a pirate buried In a front yard we passed. We got back to the house and you and I took a nap. I got up sooner and hung out with the family and then walked into town. That was neat for me to think about life now. It made me think of the days I was back in college at the College of Charleston. I have lots of advice for you one day about "what you may be searching for" if you feel lost. (It's GOD).
Sunday afternoon we went for another quick ride and then went to dinner at Rita's. You were tired this day so just wanted to go home. You were great but we knew you were tired. The kids meal gave you a frisbee as a plate to take home. You saved 2 black beans and carried them on the frisée the whole walk home. Nana told you the story about the bean stalks and plants so you ended up burying them in the rocks. So cute!
Yesterday was our last day at the beach. We went to breakfast and then spent the day at the beach. The tide was out so there were lots of tidal pools. It was nice for you. You carried a red bucket and a little hermit crab we found. Daddy found a small dead fish that you carried around for over an hour. Towards the end you were opening and closing its mouth.
We had a picnic in our little tent with Benjamin and then headed back to the house so you could take your nap. Daddy fed the seagulls and then we had a flock all around us.
