No baby during photo session

One of the shots we wanted to get yesterday was you laying on the floor with your arm stretched out with Benjamin laying on top of it. You did not want to lay down on the rug as you said it was hurting you but I think it's just a weird texture and it was kind a like a wool material. After about 10 minutes of coaxing you with candy we finally got you to lay on your back but when we told you to get close to Benjamin you said "no baby!" and were very adamant about not getting anywhere near him. I think it one time he finally said something to him and his here but you would not kiss him.

At the house you're very pleasant with him and don't seem to mind him being around. Really just sleeps a lot right now so he's not interfering too much with our lives. I do spend a little less time with you because daddy took you outside during the day on our first weekend together. 

Back to daycare

Today was your first day back to daycare after we had you home for a few days since Benjamin's birth. This morning you didn't want to go. Right before we took you to school you got to play outside with daddy and go fishing down at the lake. The whole way to school you said "fish at lake". Last night in bed we were singing twinkle twinkle and I suggested we sing it in a kitty cat version and then a cow and then you said chicken and then we added more animals this morning. You added alligator and iPad. 

You're so full of life and so much fun and are just this little silly head. You like to run around naked and make his chase you to put your diaper and clothes on. 

Last weekend before brother is here

Dearest Sam,

Each of our lives are getting ready to change as we welcome your baby brother here this coming Wednesday   It will be so fun seeing you interact with the baby and see you help out and love on him.  I think you understand there's a baby coming here soon but because you're so small I'm sure it's not really comprehendible that he will be here forever. Ha ha 

This weekend turned out to be beautiful as it's in the 60s and almost like spring out. Yesterday we took you to lunch - we thought we were going to brunch but they don't have it on Saturdays- at the French Market in Locust Grove before we went to Noah's Ark to look at all the animals they have there. They are only open from 12 to 3 which is typically your nap time so needless to say we lasted about an hour there. 

Today we just have been relaxing here at the house and in the yard and had breakfast together and played and watched some TV and then you took a nap and daddy and I hung out on the dock. He fished and I read and ate a sandwich. It's so nice being here in our yard and just getting to enjoy the lake and the trees. I went up to check on you after it had been a few hours and you were sitting in your bed playing with poop. We wash your hands and came down to the dock so you could fish with daddy. Daddy just caught a real fish and you had so much fun seeing it and you even gave it a kiss when I told you to

Go Alex in the bathtub

Last night I was asking you if you could swim when you were in the bathtub because the water was filled up higher than normal.  I said remember taking swimming lessons and you said pool and then you said go Alex. What's wild as we took you to see Alex swim a couple of months ago and we were cheering him on and it's neat that you remember that. 

Phrases you say

You were talking so good and some of the cute phrases you say are sit here mommy. Stuck in there. All gone, umi zoomy iPad, thank you. When you say sit here mommy you are usually referring to me sitting next to you when you are watching TV or when you are eating

Cute story

Your dad and I sometimes lay on your floor next to your crib and sing twinkle twinkle before you go to sleep. I have a little gray pillow that we have on the chair and we share that on the floor sometimes. The other night you got out of your crib and I know we heard you were in there talking but we didn't realize you had gotten now and the door was open but when daddy went and checked on you you were laying on the floor with your head on the pillow and your blanket fast asleep. It was so precious. 

Sleeping in my arms

Twice this week you have fallen asleep in my arms and maybe I can make that evening ritual. Last night you said twinkle twinkle and we sung it together. You fell asleep soon after and were holding on to my shirt. I was so teary thanking God for the most precious gift we could ever ask for. I love you SO much!!
