June 28
Today I tip you over to pick up Brenda who is Uncle Dwayne's mom and we went and had McDonald's and then went into McDonough. Brenda wanted to make sure you had plenty of food so she gave you some of her biscuit and we ordered you pancakes. We went to an antique shop and then came back to Conyers and went to O'Charley's for lunch. You got to eat potatoes with gravy. Didn't take very long nap but you are just such a happy boy at the restaurant looking around and everybody and smiling so they would look at you. Brenda said she couldn't believe how big you have grown and how much you are doing now.

Eight months old tomorrow
Tomorrow you were going to be eight months old! This Past week was the first time you've been sick. You have an ear infection. You have started to feel better the past couple of days but the first two days you had a high fever. It was said seeing you not as happy and playful as you normally are.
More about your mom
I am a memory packrat. More so in my mind. I'm sitting here worried about not having enough time to save important memories for you. I have old tapes of times with my family and have put them on DVD to keep up with technology and I'm worried I don't know exactly where they are and it makes me feel anxious. And I remember that I have lots of photos and video of you since you were born on my computer that I haven't back them up and so now I am worried that if something happened to my computer there wouldn't be anything for you to see when you're older. That makes me feel anxious too. Maybe girls and boys are different and the boys don't really care about looking at old videos when they were babies but for me it's important for you to be able to see yourself and how you were as a little baby. I've been able to see videos of me and my sister when we were little and it's so sweet to see. I know the most important thing is for you to know how much you are loved and how much we are enjoying every single minute with you. Maybe because everyone says how fast children grow up I'm afraid I'm going to miss something. Parents always want to make sure they're doing the best for their kids. I love you Sam! Mom

Father's Day Weekend
This weekend we came up to Ellijay with Grandmere and Bill. My 40th birthday was Thuelrsday so that is another reason to go on a trip! Earlier today your daddy and I went down the Cartecay river. We are staying at a really neat cabin with lots of cool decorations.
3 things about you
These are the three things that we hear from other people about you all the time:
He's such a happy little boy
He's got the cutest smile
He looks just like his daddy

Canoeing
Tonight was your first night in the canoe with your daddy fishing and me riding along. You weren't too crazy about the lifejacket but you put up with it okay.

Best weekend ever
This weekend was so much fun because daddy and I went up to Cleveland Georgia and took you of course and stayed in a very old log cabin. We met up in Dalenoga. I was still out of town a lot this past week so your daddy watched you Tuesday through Friday and Friday he drove you up and I met you both at a ice cream shop. When I saw you and you smiled at me it was the best feeling ever and I had missed you so much. I'm so proud to show you off so I too you next door to a cute little shop I had just been in. I just been talking about you because The lady working in the shop asked me what my plans were for the weekend. I told her I was going to see you after not seeing you for a week. So we went up to the cabin and then we went to the grocery store and then to dinner. That night we all slept in the loft area together and you slept in your pack and play. The next morning we got up and went hiking to some beautiful waterfalls near Helen. There was no water working at the cabin we were staying at so daddy and I decided we would come home that day but the people that own the cabin were working on the water when we got back to the cabin so then we ended up hanging out there a little bit longer and they loved holding you playing with you and you got to take a ride on the golf cart with daddy and the son of the family. While they went to Home Depot to get a part I took you with me to an antique shop and then we came back and packed up. Yesterday we just stayed around the house and went to the grocery store but it was such a fun day being at home John's mom (your Grandmere) came over with Bill and we had lunch together because she wanted to see you so badly as it has been a few weeks. The weather yesterday was perfect because the breeze was blowing and it was just a beautiful day. I had my most fun time with you since you've been born yesterday afternoon in your bedroom -we were playing with stackable cups. I knocked them over and you thought it was so funny and so you were laughing your little head off. You were laughing just thinking about knocking them over yourself and you would reach out to start to do it and then laugh and then not knock them over and then you would do it again. I had a go get daddy because it was the cutest thing I've ever seen. Later that afternoon we talked to Gordon and Mrs. Julie and she told me that little boys love knocking things over. Their son Gordie is a year older than you.
