Nashville-your first trip out of town!

We had a great weekend. I took off from work on Thursday and Friday and we went with daddy to one of his shows. It was sponsored by the national wild Turkey Federation. We stayed at the Gaylord Opryland and it is something else. When we got there on Thursday we checked in and your dad went and helped do a little bit of set up down show area. We stayed in the room and played. We also got to go look at where the show was going to be and met some people that your daddy knows that work for different companies .  Later that evening, dad picked up dinners tickets for his boss Steve for a dinner that evening. We went up to the music and bar area and got to meet some people that he knows (Tom Stucky) . Our room was just a matter of steps away from where the bar and music area was. We got to socialize for a little bit and show you off and then we went and had dinner at a fancy sports bar. Steve, dad's boss, came down there and sat with us for a little bit to pick up his ticket. (He told dad the next day that he couldn't stop staring at you because you were so cute) At dinner you really enjoyed eating the crayons but mostly enjoyed eating hummus. It's neat seeing you become a little boy when you do things independently. For example this morning at breakfast you were not really excited about your daddy feeding you yogurt but what we handed you the spoon and the yogurt cup you were really excited to feed yourself! And you also get excited by giving us some of your food too :).

On Friday daddy had to be at the show at nine so he went and got some breakfast and coffee for mommy and came back to the room before the show started.  After we got ready, we went down and saw the show for a little bit and met some other people. You enjoy seeing all the animals at the show.  We were going to leave the hotel for a little bit but it took a while to get the car and you were getting anxious so we ended up just staying at the hotel. We just went back to the room and played and watched music videos. Aunt Angela had given you a new toy for the bath so you were playing with that and really having fun. You like anything that is new such as coffee stir sticks and metal cups that we got at breakfast. Your favorite playing spot was in the bathroom on the toilet. You would put the toilet paper rolls on the seat and then put things in the core. Then you found that you could get in the cabinet. One time you than crawled over in the cabinet to the other side of the cabinet where there's just a small shelf. See -you're just like a little monkey :)

When daddy got done on Saturday we went over to the mall next-door and ate at the coolest restaurant ever!  It's called Aquarium. They have fish all over the place!  Your daddy and I both said that you enjoyed looking at the kids there more than the fish.  We came back to the hotel and got a yogurt. You enjoyed feeding yourself and us too. We kept you up late each night compared to being at home.

Yesterday was Saturday and was also Valentine's Day.  We ordered room service for breakfast. Afterwards, I took you over to East Nashville and we went to a bakery. You were so excited about seeing the heart balloons at the bakery. I drove around the area just to see if things had changed since when I was here last. It made me grateful that I am married to your daddy and that we have you!  We stopped at Walmart to get you some more milk and I picked up two balloons and a sucker for you. We came back and played in the room and you took a really long nap. While you were napping I put some Valentine's Day stuff up and took a relaxing bath. When daddy got back to the room we walked through the hotel and went and had dinner at a really pretty Mexican restaurant. You really liked feeding yourself chips and guacamole and then you started using your straw to feed yourself with. After dinner I went and recorded a song for daddy at a karaoke station and daddy got you a ice cream. While you were waiting for me, there was a little boy that was playing with you and you were so excited and chasing him around. You were also really excited about these two horses that were holding guitars. Daddy said you were pointing at them and screaming with excitement.

One of the cutest things that you did on the trip was run down the hallways when we were heading back to our room.  You would run really fast and squeal and laugh. One thing we both agree on is that you are the cutest thing we've ever seen!

This morning we got up and packed and you slept in and then we had a good breakfast. We are heading home now and I am pretty sure you are asleep in your seat.

It was nice to get away from the house and get to sleep in this morning Without dogs making us get up :)
