Yesterday afternoon when it was nap-time, you did not want to be in your crib so you slept in your bed for the first time. It was challenging getting you to stay in your bed as you would get out and I would say, "well do you want to go in your crib?" and you would said no. We played that game for about 30 minutes. Last night we figured you would be so tired that you would just end up sleeping in your crib which you did. You did try to get out of your crib just for a few seconds but then just layed down and went to sleep. We have been keeping the bathroom door cracked so we can look in and see you without you knowing. This morning you woke up around 6 AM and I went and checked on you. If left and you started crying so I took you out and put you in your bed and you fell back asleep until 8:30. Today is Sunday and we ended up sleeping in the longest I can remember! Both yesterday and today we've cooked a nice breakfast and enjoyed getting to be here at the house. Today at naptime daddy put you in your crib and you cryed for about 10 minutes and kept trying to get out so he put you in your big boy bed. You got out but we decided to let you get in there on your own so we watched you for a few minutes from the door and you grabbed a book from your bookshelf and took it back to your bed and then got out one more time and then got your blanket from the crib and then went back to your bed and layed down and are sleeping right now. I feel so proud of you that you have made the transition so well and that you really like being a big boy and having a tiny little bed like ours instead of your crib.

Big boy bed!
Well you officially prefer your big boy bed over your crib! We got the toddler bed for you just so we could transition you into it so we could use the crib for the baby if you ended up liking the bed better. We moved your changing table out of your room and put your bed in its place and moved the changing table area to the top of your dresser by the two front windows.

First day in young 2's classroom
Yesterday the director at your daycare called and said that she thought you are ready to move up to the two-year-old classroom. After your dad dropped you off yesterday, he even called me and said that he didn't feel right leaving you that morning because all the kids there were crying had a runny noses. I told the director that we had talked about we would like for you to be in a classroom with older kids. Most of the kids you started with had already moved up to the bigger classroom.
Your dad and I dropped you off this morning and you went directly to the two-year-old classroom because we didn't get you there until 9:30 am. You went outside and investigated a little bit into their big playground and then you were off running and having fun so we left you there in good hands. We checked on you right before lunch and they said that you ate good and that you had listened well and were very happy. I have attached a photo of the paper that we got from your day today.

So much fun!
I had so much fun with you tonight and I think you had fun with me. It's 850 and I just put you to bed and you didn't even cry. We watched train shows on TV and then we played hide and seek and you were even trying to hide and it was so funny. You were hiding between the two chairs that we keep at the counter and when I looked at you, you would giggle.
When you found me, you would giggle too. Earlier we were laying on the sofa (I just bought some new pillows and I really soft throw for the sofa). You were playing with the pillows and laying on the blanket and I kept saying that we were snuggling and you seemed to love the blanket. I am excited that I'm starting to feel better because I enjoy spending time with you again! It seems like a long time that I haven't been feeling good. When I told you it's time to go night night he went back to your room and then you said book so we read a few books.
I also forgot some words you're saying now are "elbow" as you must be learning that at school. I showed you my knee and told you what it is and you repeatedly knee. Your vocabulary is exploding.
Sweet dreams my precious boy

Chatanooga trip August 10
We came to Chatanooga with daddy for 2 days before he has to work a show. Yesterday we left Nanas and got here around 3:30 pm. We checked in and then walked around the art district. We got an Orangina and the best pink lemonade macaroon. Yummy! Then we toured a big ship that is called the Mississippi which is a tugboat. Even got your photo taken from the photographer that thought you were the cutest boy in town. You might make the paper! 😀. For dinner, daddy took us to the boathouse. We ordered you a chicken quesadilla that you said "no" to. The end up sitting in my lap the whole meal because he was so tired. He had phone asleep on the drive over to the restaurant so we had to wake him up. He has never sat in my lap so quietly before which was a kind of treat for mommy because I got to hold him and eat my dinner.

All about mommy
I don't think I have mentioned this lately but you love mommy! I'm sure it's just a phase but you are always wanting to be around me instead of your dad right now. If it were the other way around I would be heartbroken. Ha ha. I love that you love me and we have such a good time together!!

What you are up to these days
I feel bad that I haven't been blogging more about what you have been doing and what things we have gotten to do together. I haven't been feeling that well since I'm pregnant and everything is kind of blah. This weekend Grandmere came over last night and watched you and we went and did some shopping. Tomorrow all the schools start back so it was tax-free weekend so all the places we went were pretty crowded. Grandma said she can't believe how much you change in just a few weeks. We feel the same way. You repeat everything we say now and are really communicating so well. When you wake up usually say eat eat which means you are hungry. Sometimes I feed you a little cereal bar or some cereal with milk in it. Sometimes you like to sit on the sofa and eat and watch TV which includes choo choos and fish. This past week your dad was gone Tuesday through Friday and I tend to get really nauseated in the afternoon to evening time. For dinner I would eat cereal and you would want the same thing and so you started to say cereal. It's adorable. The other night I was making you a turkey burger and you had pulled out a little sticky note pad in the drawer that was the same color as Velveta and you said cheese and put the paper on the roll. Most of the time you just walk around the kitchen and the den and hold your fishing pole and act like you're fishing with little toy fish in plastic insects. For the past few weekends every Sunday we have gone to the pool with aunt Angela and Uncle Dwayne and brought food to eat there. Its been so nice and relaxing and you enjoy the swimming pool.
Last Saturday afternoon we met grandma and Papa Bill for dinner in Monroe and that is when you wore your shirt that said big brother in March. They were so surprised and happy.
Next weekend we are going to Chattanooga because daddy has to work a show and so we thought we would tagalong for the two days before so we could take you to the aquarium and the children's museum and hopefully the Chattanooga choo-choo train
At school this past Friday it was the end-of-the-year party so they had everyone bring snacks and sherbet ice cream and y'all had pizza for lunch and got to go out and play in the water. So tomorrow you will be officially on the bigger side of the classroom to transition to the two-year-old room in October. Your teacher Miss Locole said that she is going to be doing lots of redirecting with you. We all agree that you can be very persistent at times.
Just before when I was changing your diaper you were just being so silly I'm trying to stand on your head and it was really hard for me to put the diaper on you. I didn't get upset even though it took me about 10 minutes. I think your personality is so funny and I love when you have fun and I try to enjoy the moment and enjoy seeing you be silly.
Then I laid you and your crib and you ended up pooping and putting your hands in it so I had to get you out and clean you off. You still didn't want to fall asleep so I went back in there and you were playing with your blanket biting it and laughing. Seeing your sweet smile and your cute teeth melts my heart and makes me feel so fortunate that your little soul is in our lives. There are times where I feel guilty that you won't be the only child anymore but I know it will be good for you to have a brother or sister. Because we are in our 40s having you we won't be around forever and I want you to have a sense of family. It will be our job to raise you to love you brother and sister and I always feel united and that you always be there for one another.
